Disable Automatic Scandisk

When Windows is incorrectly shutdown. Using this tip you can control whether automatic checking is disabled, prompts before running, or runs automatically in Windows 95/98/Me. First browse to C:\ and change thethe attributes for MSDOS.SYS so it is not Read Only. Next open it with notepad and
Change the value of 'AutoScan=' to:
AutoScan=0 : Scandisk is Disabled
AutoScan=1 : Scandisk Prompts First
AutoScan=2 : Scandisk Runs Automatically
Now restart your computer for the change to take effect.
