How to Restore Missing Folder Options in Windows XP

If you have ever experienced missing Folder Options, there is no need to reinstall the Windows XP. The reasons for this lost are diverse: virus attack, irresponsible software, or just an unintended effort. For virus attack case, usually it followed with no hidden files and folders shown. You should remove the virus first before attempting to restore the missing Folder Options. Here is the method.

  1. Click Start button.
  2. Select Run and type regedit. The Registry Editor will open.
  3. Examine the left pane to search and expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer. Click on it.
  4. Examine the right pane and select DWORD variable. Delete it.
