Configuring Outlook Express for multiple identities.

It is possible to set up different identities in Outlook Express, which in effect are completely separate setups for different users or different email accounts. If there are a lot of people using the same computer to check their emails, the need for setting up different identities arises.
This is how you set up different identities in Outlook Express.
  • Open Outlook Express.
Click on File > Identities > Add New Identity...

The New Identity window will pop up.
In the Type your name text field, type your unique user identity.
Click OK.
Note: It is recommended not to use a password, because if you forget it, there is nothing to do to recover it and you have to create a new identity.
** Identity Added window will pop up asking you whether to switch to the new identity.
Click Yes if you want to switch to the new identity now. Otherwise, click No, and then click Close.
Outlook Express will appear to close, and then will reopen, this time as the new identity.
Note: When you create a new identity, a new entry is created in the registry, and a new folder is created on the hard disk for that identity's message store.
Switching Between Identities Do the following to switch to a different identity when Outlook Express is already running.
From the File menu, select Switch Identity.

In the Switch Identities window, select the identity to which you wish to switch.
Click OK.
The Outlook Express is now configured with multiple identities.
